Costa Cruises Launches New Around-The-World Cruise

Costa Cruises celebrated the launch of its first “Around-The-World Cruise” onboard Costa Atlantica, which departed from Shanghai on March 1. 

The 86-day voyage will take passengers across five continents, with calls in Greece, Italy, France, Spain, Portugal, The United States and the Maldives. Onboard, guests included Michael Thamm, CEO of the Costa Crociere Group, government officials, trade partners and journalists.

Costa Atlantica has been sailing throughout Asia since May 2013.

The Costa Group says the launch marks a particular milestone for the company because it is the first world voyage by a cruise ship designed especially for the Chinese market. Costa hopes the new cruise will boost China’s tourism industry.
