George Clooney Says Amal Wasn’t Too Keen on Where He Took Her On Their …
After an impromptu proposal, George and Amal jetted off to Venice for their epically elegant nuptials. While those were planned, George had one more surprise up his well-tailored sleeves: In the middle of their honeymoon, he informed (or rather sprung on) his laid back bride that they’d need to travel to—wait for it —Comic Con in New York so he could promote his flick Tomorrowland.
“I got the call while on my honeymoon and was told it was really important that I fly in,” he said during an interview on the Graham Norton Show.
“First I had to explain that to my wife which didn’t play well. And then, the whole idea of spending part of your honeymoon with people dressed up like Captain Kirk and Star Wars’ characters somehow wasn’t easy to explain to my new bride. But, I showed up and it was actually fun.”
Of course it was fun. Amal is the best.
Plus, their idea of a date night is mingling with neighbors at the local pub near the English manor they purchased.
‘There’s a great pub we go to. It’s fantastic and we drink all kinds of pints of things,” he said, adding that he’s bought the pub a few bottles of his own brand of Tequila to keep behind the bar, presumably for all of their shot taking.
When they’re not cozying up in the British countryside, the two are obviously quite busy working (Amal recently ended her stint teaching at Columbia and has resumed representing her high-profile legal clients). But despite their hectic schedules, they have a pact that no matter what, they never spend more than a week apart. How’s that for love?
