Lindblad to cruise to New Guinea

Lindblad Expeditions-National Geographic has added a 20-day cruise to New Guinea, which it calls one of the least explored places on earth.

Departing on Sept. 22, the company says the cruise on 102-passenger National Geographic Orion will “explore the wild and largely inaccessible terrain where art, tribal life, biology and history come together in the most extravagant way possible.”

In addition to a team of naturalists, a National Geographic photographer, undersea specialist and dive master, the cruise will feature four guest speakers, including James Bradly, author of “Flags of our Fathers”; marine and wildlife filmmaker Ben Cropp; Indonesia expert Lawrence Blair; and shark chronicler Valerie Taylor.

Rates begin at $17,390 before special incentives that includes 25% off all cabin fares and a $2,000 air credit.
