Southwest Airlines asks passengers to arrive early, help prevent delays after …

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Passengers flying with Southwest Airlines on Monday were asked to arrive several hours early after recent technical problems at airports across the country.

Southwest says they have had more than 400 flights delayed because of these technical issues. The issues impacted the airline’s mobile app, website and reservation centers.

The airline recommends that passengers arrive at least two hours early until the issue is resolved.

The cause of this glitch has not been determined yet.

FOX 4’s Nicole DiAntonio spoke with several passengers who arrived early ans say they began to worry once they started having trouble printing their boarding passes Sunday night.

“Usually southwest is really on top of things,” passenger Delena Frank said. “So it made me worried they were having technically difficulties because usually they fix it rather quickly.  I hope we get on our plane because that’s a really big deal. I mean we are on our honeymoon so if we don’t, it would cause a lot of issues.”

This is not the first time a computer issue impacted the travel industry. Last month, a technical glitch at American Airlines prevented passengers from checking in for their flight. In July, hundreds of United Airlines’ flights were grounded because of computer issues.
