3Qs for Cruise Month: Connie Corbet, Ambassador Travel
In honor of National Plan a Cruise Month, TMR is interviewing executives from across the travel industry.
Today’s interview is with Connie R. Corbett, president of Ambassador Travel and oversees the divisions of Ambassador Travel: Vacation Center, Corporate Center, Group Incentive Travel, Ambassador Travel School, and Magellan Interline Vacations.
What do you plan to do differently in 2016 than you did in the past as far as selling cruises?
For 2016, Ambassador Travel plans to continue to support our valued partner cruise lines by targeting our database to match the best cruise ship and itinerary to our prospects. We are also focusing on the robust river cruise segment that so many passengers are enjoying now.
What do you wish the cruise industry better understood about working with travel agents?
I wish the cruise line executives would shadow us through one transaction each year, just so they can better understand all that we do to support them and appropriately serve our mutual customers with top level customer service.
What advice do you have for other agents trying to sell cruises?
Know your customers and mine your database. When you are matching the right cruise product to the right traveler, everyone is happy. You will build higher customer return visits when our customers know we can save them time and money while helping them create the most amazing vacation experience memories for them.
