Meet Emily and Sian Davies, a.k.a. the Wandering Wives: a married lesbian couple from the UK who last year sold everything they owned and set off around the world on the adventure of a lifetime.

Their blog is a smorgasbord of art and culture, pristine beaches, quaint vineyards, impressive hiking trails – and the great outdoors in general.

1 The Twelve Apostles

Here we are checking out the Twelve Apostles on the Great Ocean Road, Victoria. We drove our funky camper van on this awesome Aussie road trip.

2 The Acropolis of Athens

We spent our honeymoon in a five star luxury resort in Rhodes, Greece. We took a day trip to Lindos and rode donkeys up the hill to visit the Acropolis.

3 Brest Street Art

We watched a street artist pasting prints on the walls in Brest, France, then strolled around the Brest Arsenal. Art is much more fun and accessible when it’s outside of a stuffy gallery.

4 Kata Tjuta

Hiking through the Valley of the Winds at Kata Tjuta, central Australia. We had plenty of time to ponder the mistreatment of Aboriginal Australians while walking through the environment they used to call home.

5 The Uluru

We saw the sun rise and set over Uluru, central Australia, as well as hiking around the rock. We both felt a deep spiritual connection to this sacred place.

6 Manchester Bridge

This is us hanging out in Manchester before our wedding and wanderings began. Being city girls at heart, we love the beauty that can be found in urban environments.

7 KL Towers

Underneath the Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur. We shopped until we dropped and ate some great street food at a night market in the city.

8 Sapa

The first ‘wow’ moment of our travels was in Sapa, Vietnam. We trekked through the hills and rice terraces with women of the Black H’Mong tribe and saw life through their eyes.

9 Mount Field National Park

A winter hike at Mount Field National Park, Tasmania. We love waterfalls. This one was flowing so ferociously and was ice cold.

10 Whitehaven Beach

Whitehaven Beach, Queensland, has been voted the most beautiful beach in the world. We laid on bright white sand and bathed in crystal clear waters. Sian would like to point out she is not naked!

11 Wilsons Prom

We saw our first wild koala at Wilsons Promontory, Victoria. He stopped in front of us and we silently surveyed each other with wonder, then he darted up a tree and was gone.
