Winter’s approach in the U.S. and Canada marks the launch point for vacation travel to warm-weather Caribbean destinations. With an eye toward the calendar, several hotels and resorts are teaming up with tourism officials in various destinations to offer travelers special packages featuring discounted rates and special amenities, facilities and services.
In recognition of the end of daylight savings time, the Bermuda Tourism Authority has launched a “Fall Back” promotion offering a free night on three-night bookings made through Nov. 8 for travel from Nov. 1 to Jan. 31, 2016. Select hotels participating in the promotion will offer rates starting at $170 per person, per night.
Participating hotels include the Coco Reef Resort, Coral Beach Tennis Club, Dawkin’s Manor Hotel, Edgehill Manor Guest House, Elbow Beach Resort, Fairmont Southampton, Grotto Bay Resort, The Reefs Hotel Club, Rosewood Tucker’s Point and St. George’s Club.
Ice-bound North Americans can warm up to Nisbet Plantation Beach Club’s “January Thaw” promotion, which offers guests who book stays of six days or more one free night in the resort’s cottage-style accommodations and a $200 beverage credit.
Billed as the Caribbean’s sole historic plantation inn on the beach, Plantation Beach Club guests can relax at the resort’s oceanfront pool, utilize complimentary snorkeling equipment to explore offshore coral reefs, or play tennis or croquet. Pampering treatments are available at the resort’s Palms Spa.
The promotion also offers travelers daily afternoon tea at the resort’s Great House patio; nightly three-course dinner and roundtrip airport transfers from either the St. Kitts or Nevis airports, a $280 value. Under the offer, daily rates start at $308 per person, per night, double occupancy. Rates vary based on room type; resort credit is per reservation.
The Turks Caicos’ Somerset on Grace Bay resort is offering saving of up to 15 percent of published rates under its “Winter Warm Up” promotion. The package features daily Continental breakfast and free Wi-Fi, and is valid for stays of three nights or more from Jan. 5 through Feb. 29, 2016.
The package is available for stays in any of the resort’s 53 villa accommodations, from a 1,400 square foot, one-bedroom villa through a 5,300 square foot, five-bedroom penthouse. All accommodations feature spacious living areas, gourmet kitchens with Viking appliances and marble floors and bathrooms. Each villa opens to a private patio or balcony with views of lush tropical gardens, refreshing pools or Grace Bay Beach.
Resort facilities, including infinity edge and reverse-current lap pools and a fitness center with a steam room. All rooms feature Wi-Fi service and guests can also enjoy complimentary use of bicycles, snorkeling equipment and kayaks.
