India and Some of Its Wonders

India is a country with a population of 1.2 billion people and there is so much to see and do while visiting this beautiful country. The amount of activities and experiences you can be part of when visiting India are breathtaking and endless. We are currently in Bangalore, spending time at The Paul Bangalore, a nice boutique hotel in Bangalore.

 

When visiting India one should not leave without seeing the grand Taj Mahal. Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal in honour of Mumtaz Mahal his third wife. This breathtaking monument attracts thousands of visitors from all over. When you first walk through the Taj Mahal you will see many precious stones and magnificent marble. As you continue there will be many breathtaking gardens and astonishing corridors. Over time it has been characterised as the essence of love and has been called one of the most stunning buildings in the world.

 

Another marvel to take notice of while in India is the Buddhist caves of Ajanta. The Buddhist caves of Ajanta replicate ancient India with its design and incredible preserved architecture. These caves were once abandoned and then rediscovered around 1819. Along with architecture the paintings in the caves are well preserved today. The Buddhist caves are great for the tourist fascinated with ancient history and mysterious caves.

 

Another great place to consider is Jaisalmer Fort. The Jaisalmer Fort provides many enticing possibilities. It also has around 3,000 individuals residing within this magnificent fort. It is lined with several temples and houses. There are several restaurants that tie to Indian culture, shops with handmade items, and houses for guest in the area. When entering this fort you enter from the east and continue on your journey through several gates. Eventually you will reach the center of the fort, Dashera Chowk. This fort was founded in the year 1156 and was home to many battles. There is rich history all around the walls of the Jaisalmer Fort and unique beauty within the attractions available.

 

While visiting India check out the ancient ruins and monuments that Qutb Minar Complex provides its visitors. There are several ancient tombs available to view. There is also the magnificent sandstone and a mausoleum made of marble in the complex. Both of these monumental attractions are covered entirely in calligraphy with great Islamic detail. There is also a festival that is held here during November and December that showcase popular classical music and dances of India.

 

Overall, there is plenty to do when visiting India. There are several attractions that are both monumental to the history of India as well as breathtaking for all those that come and visit.
