The Ultimate Vacation for Beer Lovers

Talk about a booze cruise.

Cruise agency Avoya Travel is partnering with Avalon Waterways to offer a Beer River Cruise this November, which will include a 13-day trip from Budapest to Prague, with stops along the way to taste some of the world’s best brews. Passengers will venture down the Danube, taking in royal palaces, churches, museums, and, of course, beer.

“You’ll have the chance to taste some of the Wachau’s best-loved wines, but since we have added a ‘Beer Tasting’ theme to this cruise, we will introduce you to some of the region’s famous beers,” reads the description on the website. “A beer expert, known in Europe as the ‘Beer Pope’ will come on board and share with you much of his knowledge of this tasty brew.”

Passengers will visit the sites of Passau, medieval Regensburg, Dürnstein, Stiftskirche, and Benedictine Abbey in Melk, and they’ll also be able to participate in onboard beer workshops, tastings, and lectures. Additionally, avisit to the Ottakringer family brewery and a pub-crawl through Vienna are included in the price. Rates start at $2,539 for a Deluxe Stateroom.
