A&K adds Cuba cruise tour, Japan island cruise
Luxury tour operator Abercrombie Kent has added a Cuba
land-cruise package and an expedition cruise to Japan, Hong Kong and the Ryukyu
Islands.
“Cuba by Land Sea: A People-to-People Cruise”
will combine hotel stays in Havana and Santiago de Cuba with a seven-night
cruise aboard the three-masted sailing yacht Le Ponant.
The cruise will include a visit to the Punta Frances
Nature Reserve, accessible only by sea, and a protected Caribbean reef.
There will be two departures in 2017, March 1-11 (sailing
Havana to Santiago de Cuba) and March 9-19 (sailing Santiago de Cuba to Havana).
The trip is priced from $9,995 per person, based on double occupancy, when
booked by July 31, 2016. The package includes hotel and cruise accommodations,
sightseeing, onboard lectures, shore excursions, equipment, most drinks and
gratuities.
Additionally, AK is offering a Japan cruise that
will take place May 28 to June 12, 2017, and will follow the arc of the islands
south from Osaka onboard Ponant’s 264-passenger L’Austral, which is being
exclusively chartered to AK for 199 guests and will be staffed by the
company’s expedition team.
The cruise will include stops on Yakushima Island,
Amami-oshima, Miyako-Jima and Ishigaki.
Also onboard will be author and Japan Times columnist
Mark Brazil, Japanese culture expert Chieko Sakihana, photography instructor
Richard Harker, and author and professor Lee Makela.
The “Japan, Hong Kong the Ryukyu Islands
Cruise” is priced from $19,995 per person, based on double occupancy (or
from $16,995 when booked by August 31, 2016).
In addition to this new cruise, AK has added a
second departure of its “Wonders of Japan Cruise” (May 18-30, 2017),
also on the L’Austral and priced from $16,495 (or from $14,995 when booked by
August 31, 2016).
Prices include pre- and post-cruise hotel stays,
sightseeing, onboard lectures, shore excursions, equipment, most drinks, and
crew and staff gratuities.
