European Waterways features a spirited cruise in Scottish Highlands
European Waterways is offering its six-night Whisky Trail Cruise in the Scottish Highlands aboard the hotel barge Scottish Highlander with departures on June 5 and Oct. 2.
With all-inclusive rates from $4,090 per person, double, the cruise travels along the Caledonian Canal between Fort William and Inverness and includes tours and private whisky tastings at three distilleries as well as a scheduled crossing of Loch Ness (with a chance for a Nessie sighting).
The distilleries visited are the family-owned Benromach distillery near Forres with a tasting of Benromach Speyside single malt; the Glen Ord distillery, the only remaining single malt Scotch whisky distillery on the Black Isle; and the Dalwhinnie distillery, located in Cairngorms National Park, with a tasting of several aged single malts with a variety of matching chocolates.
