Leopard Casually Strolls Into Hotel Room Like He Owns the Place

A newlywed couple honeymooning in the Himalayan town of Nainital, in India’s northern state of Uttarakhand, awoke to find an intruder in their hotel room: a leopard.

While not invited, the leopard certainly ensured the honeymoon was memorable.

When Sumit Rathore and wife Shivani awoke to the sound of breaking glass, they were stunned to see a leopard pacing around their room at the Nainital Hotel.

They jumped to the side of their bed to hide from the large cat, but luckily the leopard was not interested in them. Instead it headed for the bathroom.

The groom shut the bathroom door behind the giant feline and called hotel management to report the invasion, according to the Hindustan Times.

The hotel called forest rangers to come and collect the cat, but when they arrived on the scene with tranquilizers and a cage the leopard was already gone.

The leopard did not come to the hotel for a good night’s sleep, but instead was likely looking for a hideout to escape a pack of street dogs, according to the forest rangers.

The leopard is only the most recent wild animal to visit a Nainital hotel. A few weeks ago, the Times Of India reported, a black bear broke the window of a hotel room where tourists were sleeping. The bear was chased off and swam across a lake and back to the safety of the jungle.
