Virtuoso to roll out Passport Online cruise booking engine

Travel agency network Virtuoso has selected Passport Online
as a technology partner and will implement the company’s cruise booking engine.

The Tandem Cruise Booking Engine will roll out to Virtuoso’s
network in North America next month via Virtuoso.com. The business-to-business
tool will enable agents to find, compare, quote and book cruises on its
web-based system, which will come with features and content designed only for
Virtuoso (and includes Virtuoso’s preferred partners).

Tandem includes reporting and marketing tools, as well as
ship information, interactive deck plans, cabin selection and the ability to
modify bookings.

Agents will have the option to buy into a
business-to-consumer version of the booking engine at an additional cost.

The booking engine was part of Virtuoso’s Incubator program,
which introduces technologies to agents for testing and refinement. Some
products, like Tandem, go on to become preferred products.
