Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. is upgrading its travel agent reservation system, Espresso, streamlining the process and making reserving and managing groups easier than before.

Agents on Espresso will now be able to find available staterooms on multiple decks with interactive deck plans, including a new “closest stateroom” filter. Espresso also allows agents to limit available options in each category with a “50 best open staterooms” search

Royal Caribbean also has expanded reporting for group business, letting agents create and manage their own reports, including invoices and financial statements.

Until now agents were forced to go through a Royal Caribbean agent on the phone to redeem group amenity plus points, they now can do that seamlessly through Espresso.

The cruise line has also made reservations for “headquartered” groups—a cooperative of travel agents—on Espresso accessible to all members of each cooperative, instead of just a limited number of them.

“Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. is committed to its travel partners, their success is our success. Listening to their feedback and taking action is key to helping them become more profitable, and that’s exactly what Espresso is all about,” Juan Silva, director of eDistribution strategy and development told TMR. “We’re excited to keep the momentum going and staying ahead of the curve as we continue to make the reservation system even better with every enhancement.”

Espresso debuted last year for agents booking Royal Caribbean International, Celebrity Cruises and Azamara Club Cruises sailings.
