Travel Leaders makes the extra effort to promote Caribbean …
Travel Leaders Group has launched the One Caribbean Family
Ambassador campaign, informing agents about what islands are open for business
this fall and winter, and providing agents marketing materials to influence
clients.
The campaign will provide Travel Leaders Group agents with
information on conditions and availability in the Caribbean, a social media
toolkit with posts and videos, and sales promotions.
“In order to support the Caribbean tourism industry, we’re
asking our agents to become One Caribbean Family Ambassadors and encourage
their clients to consider a Caribbean trip this fall or winter,” said Travel
Leaders Group CEO Ninan Chacko.
In the past month, Travel Leaders Group has seen a drop in
the number of Caribbean leads coming from consumers.
“The general unawareness in the market isn’t aligned
with the fact that the majority of the Caribbean remains [unaffected by
hurricanes Irma and Maria],” Chacko said.
If travelers avoid destinations that were not impacted by hurricanes,
“the economic impact to the overall region will just end up being further
compounded,” he said.
Hugh Riley, secretary general and executive director of the
Caribbean Tourism Organization, said the region is grateful for the support.
“This is where
travel agents excel, by providing accurate information to their clients and
ensuring travelers get the vacation experience they are seeking,” Riley
said in a statement.
In addition to the campaign, Travel Leaders Group is raising
money to help impacted travel industry employees and their communities via the
Family Bonds Foundation. Over $45,000 has been raised to date for hurricane
relief.
