WATCH: Shock moment two cruise ships CRASH into each other leaving holidaymakers screaming

As a result of this graze and for operational reasons, we have adjusted the itinerary of MSC Orchestra. Yesterday, the ship made a first port call in Punta del Este in Uruguay. While Guests had the opportunity to visit the city and enjoy some free time ashore, the ship received some technical maintenance and minor repairs. In addition, the port call in Buzios will be substituted with a port call in Itajaì, Brazil.

“This matter will not affect the itinerary of MSC Poesia, and the ship left the Port of Buenos Aires yesterday at 5:00pm as per original schedule. MSC Cruises emphasizes that MSC Orchestra and MSC Poesia are both fully reliable and safe to sail. Our Guests’  and crew members’ safety will always be our number one priority.

The crash between the MSC ships comes a week after a Norwegian ship was filmed smashing into a dock in San Juan, Puerto Rico.

The enormous Norwegian Epic was filmed smashing into two mooring points – resulting in both being destroyed in the incident. The ship can be seen in the footage moving at a relatively slow speed as it rams into the dock – but its side crashes into one mooring point and crushes it before it slips into the water and disappears from sight.

The Norwegian Epic then collides into the second. The bridge connecting the small platform can be wobbling and submerged by water before the mooring point crashes into the water as well.

Norwegian uploaded a statement to Twitter following the crash: “Today as Norwegian Epic was manoeuvring into Port of San Juan, Puerto Rico with a local pilot on board the help of two tug boats, prevailing winds caused the ship to veer towards the pier, damaging two mooring points at Pier 3 East.”
