A first look at the new-look American Cruise Line riverboats

American Cruise Lines (ACL) today offered a first look at the spaces on its next riverboats, saying the new look marks the biggest change in the line’s design history.

“American’s new interior design concept for our modern riverboats is the next evolution of the series,” said Charles Robertson, CEO of ACL, adding that the new look will be part of the design of the line’s newest boats moving forward.

ACL partnered with Miami-based Studio Dado to design the interiors of the line’s upcoming riverboats, starting with the 175-passenger American Melody, the fourth in its modern riverboat series. It will debut in 2021 as American Cruise Lines’ 13th ship. The planned fifth ship in the series will also be given the new interior design.

The Melody will be the second ACL ship debuting on the Mississippi River in 2021. The American Jazz, the third in its modern riverboat series, will debut next year after its planned 2020 launch was delayed by the pandemic.
