The Best Black Friday Cruise Deals We’ve Seen

It’s a quietly known fact that cruise deals can be a bit elusive—few companies advertise sales, when they even have them. The main exception is “wave season,” an in-the-know period of time when deals on cruises are fairly widespread (yet again, cruise lines tend not to promote it). That’s why the spate of Black Friday deals coming in from the cruise front this year is especially exciting. From small, luxury operators to large ships, boutique vessels to modern new liners, you can snag serious savings on ships sailing from Europe to Antarctica, and everywhere in between. Here, the best Black Friday cruise deals we’ve found, good for sailings as far out as 2023.

Norwegian Cruise Line

This family-friendly line operates ships that do it all, at scale—great food, entertainment (clock the upper deck go-kart race track and fully outfitted VR gaming room). Norwegian’s Black Friday sale is offering 30 percent off itineraries on any ship, for voyages from 2021 through 2023. This includes Caribbean island-hopping, Alaskan glacier viewing, and a first-time trip to Nessebar, Bulgaria, on a voyage through the Mediterranean and Black Sea. You’ll also get to choose from five “Free at Sea” offers when you book, including free open bar, free specialty dining, free shore excursions credits, free Wi-Fi, and discounted rates for friends and family.

Virgin Voyages

This new addition to the cruise front is already nabbing attention for its first-at-seas, such as a snappy food hall, record store, and on-board tattoo parlor. Starting November 26, Virgin Voyages is offering up to $400 in onboard credit when you book a trip. Launching its first ship, the Scarlet Lady, in 2021, sailings are planned for the Caribbean, Mediterranean, and transatlantic crossings. Those trips, by the way, come inclusive of free Wi-Fi, food, basic drinks, group fitness classes, and gratuities.

Seabourn

Seabourn ships feel more like mega-yachts than traditional cruise ships. And with partnerships with Thomas Keller for food and beverage offerings, the free caviar service at any time—anywhere on the ship, and luxe pool and spa, it’s no wonder the line attracts a young but sophisticated cruiser. For its Black Friday sale, launching November 23 and running through December 1, guests will receive $1,000 in onboard credit per suite for Ocean View and Veranda Suites; $2,000 in onboard credit per suite for Penthouse and Premium Suites; suite upgrades for Veranda cabins; as well as reduced deposits of $250 for U.S. travelers. Seabourn is also allowing guests to use this sale in conjunction with other promotions, such as the “Early Bonus Savings” promotion: Guests who pay their booking in full by February 1, 2021, will receive an additional 10 percent savings off the base cruise fare.

Windstar

Windstar’s luxury yachts carry fewer than 350 guests, keeping trips intimate—whether in Tahiti, Fiji, or Mexico. Starting November 24, a site-wide sale offers deals like seven-night voyages from $1,299 per guest, for sailings from 2021 and beyond. At our last visit, typical Windstar trips ranged from $2,199 to $4,499 per guest, making this a steep discount for the posh line.

MSC Cruises

This Italian cruise line is known for doing things on a large scale, so it’s no surprise that their sale, running from November 25 until December 1, offers up to $600 off of all cruise fares, as well as up to $200 in onboard credit on trips that sail to the Bahamas and Caribbean, Mediterranean, or Northern Europe between March 2021 and November 2021. Another benefit to factor in? On this line, kids sail free.
