AmaWaterways rounds out its wine-themed cruise lineup

AmaWaterways has added two French itineraries to its roster of wine-themed cruises for 2021.

The cruise itineraries are the Essence of Burgundy and Provence, which will be the line’s first incursion into the Burgundy region, and Impressions of the Seine and Paris, which will operate between Le Havre and Paris.

The line has more than 60 Celebration of Wine river cruises throughout Europe, each hosting wine experts, sommeliers and vineyard owners, who bring wine selections onboard to offer during meals or tastings.

Douglas Garman, wine expert from Europa Village Winery, will join the July 8 Impressions of the Seine Paris sailing, the company said.

Jason McClain, owner of McClain Winery, will host the Aug. 5 Essence of Burgundy Provence trip, while L. Paul Vezzetti II, co-owner of The Vineyard at Hersey, will join the Aug, 12 sailing.

In November, Napa Valley’s Peter Marks, one of just 52 U.S.-based masters of wine, will host the Nov. 4 Burgundy sailing, while Jody Elsom, owner and winemaker at Elsom Cellars, will host the Nov. 4 Seine trip. Kevin Gott, wine expert and educator for Wente Vineyards, will host the Nov. 11 Burgundy trip.

Also the company said England’s leading wine producer, Chapel Down Vineyards, will for the first time host its Nov. 13 Melodies of the Danube wine cruise.
