Business: Air travel could worsen if passenger testing required

Delta says jet fuel demand has been hit harder by coronavirus than other refined fuels such as gasoline, diesel and propane. The carrier says air travel could suffer even more if the Biden administration requires virus testing for domestic passengers before every flight.

Rebuilding the nation’s aging system of locks and dams is critical to supporting international trade, according to farmers participating at a Wall Street Journal forum. Participants note that much of the river infrastructure that moves grain from the upper Midwest to the Gulf of Mexico was built 60 or 70 years ago, and is in desperate need of repair.

For one small cruise operator, the 2021 season is already over. Adventure Canada, a one-ship company based in Ontario that’s famous for its expedition cruises in the Canadian Arctic, has canceled all its sailings for the rest of the year. In a blow to the cruise industry’s efforts to restart operations in North America this year, the Canadian government last week banned cruise ships from its waters through Feb. 28, 2022.
