News 180-day world cruise set for 2023 sold out in one day – RADIO.COM

All aboard!

With cruises postponed for more than a year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, travelers have expressed a desire to get back on the high seas.

In fact, demand has been so high that Oceania Cruises announced that their 180-day World Cruise, which is set for 2023, sold out within a day.

Tickets went on sale on January 27, 2021.

“The response to our epic 2023 around the world voyage clearly illustrates the enthusiasm that experienced travelers have for immersive and memorable travel experiences,” stated Bob Binder, President and Chief Executive Officer of Oceania Cruises, per the press release.

“Despite the challenges the world faces today, travelers are clearly bullish on the future and are embracing these new opportunities to travel the world and create lifelong memories,” he added.

The world cruise is scheduled to set sail from San Francisco on January 15, 2023.
It’s one of the most extensive world cruises available as it docks in 96 ports in 33 countries, four different continents, and allows access to over 60 UNESCO World Heritage Sites.

Tickets for the six-month course began at $41,599 per guest.

The company noted that 20% of those who booked the cruise opted to extend it for a total of 218 days.

While the cruises typically attract repeat guests, the company noted that more than one-third of bookings for the upcoming cruise came from brand-new guests, sparking a new trend that also includes travelers extending their voyages for longer durations.

“The quick uptake from our loyal repeat guests and new first-time guests alike underscores the tremendous pent-up demand for immersive, destination-focused cruises and the strong allure of our acclaimed small-ship experience that features the finest cuisine at sea and an unmatched reputation for service from our warm and welcoming staff,” added Binder.

With one voyage ready to set sail, Oceania is gearing up to open bookings for the 2022-23 winter voyages in March.

The remainder of 2023 itineraries for North America and Europe will be available for booking starting in September.
