Carnival cruise prez Christine Duffy named U.S. Travel’s national chair

Carnival Cruise Line president Christine Duffy has been elected national chair of the U.S. Travel Association, the group said Friday.

Duffy will lead the association’s board and executive committee.

Formerly first vice chair of the board, Duffy succeeds Destination DC president and CEO Elliott Ferguson.

“We’re very pleased to welcome Christine as national chair of U.S. Travel, not only for her deep experience operating successful travel businesses, but also for the talent and savvy she will bring to helping restore one of America’s largest industry sectors following steep losses associated with the global pandemic,” said U.S. Travel Association President and CEO Roger Dow.

“The board appreciates Christine’s guidance at this crucial time as we advance policies and programs to revive travel to and within the U.S.”

Also elected to the board were vice chairs Julie Coker, president CEO of the San Diego Tourism Authority; Fred Dixon, president CEO of NYC Company; Sharon Siskie, senior vice president of commercial strategy at Disney Signature Experiences; Stephen Revetria, president of Giants Enterprises for the San Francisco Giants, will be treasurer; and Michael Dominguez, president CEO of Associated Luxury Hotels International, who will be secretary.
