Vantage Travel to host Boston Marathon victims on Rhone cruise
Approximately 144 Boston Marathon victims, first responders and guests will depart Boston on Nov. 18 for a complimentary seven-day Rhone River cruise aboard Vantage Deluxe World Travel’s River Discovery II.
Vantage Travel CEO Henry Lewis is working in conjunction with Boston’s One Fund, created to assist victims, in order to give something back to those affected by the bombings in Boston earlier this year.
Victims, first responders and their guests will fly from Boston to Marseille, France, and will then sail onboard the 176-passenger River Discovery II. The cruise will follow the southern Rhone River with port calls in Avignon, Chateauneuf-du-Pape, Arles and Viviers, among others.
Vantage Travel, a predominantly direct-to-consumer travel company, has five ships in its European fleet, including the 176-passenger River Splendor and the 136-passenger River Venture, which launched this year.
