Slowdown in cruise prices prompting bargains that haven’t seen since building …

On some cruise lines, we are seeing some of the lowest pricing since 2009. Is it because of all the new ships built between 2009 and 2012 or the uncertainty as political deadlines affect the economy?

I do not know, but the head of one of this country’s biggest cruise travel companies said he noticed a definite slowdown in business over the past couple of weeks.

Some cruises are down to $50 a night. If that isn’t the best travel value available, I don’t know what is.

So here you go…you can give your travel cruise agent a call and maybe they can do even better then these few deals I ran a across.

The first three are from Carnival

The process of rebuilding the brand means value. I added one that gets you back into Vancouver in the spring.

The first is right in the middle of winter — February 21 — with the Carnival Splendor. It departs from New York on an 8-day return cruise to Nassau, St. Thomas, San Juan and Grand Turk. Starting price is $329.

The Carnival Glory leaves Miami for one-week (return) cruise on November 17. Ports include Nassau, St .Thomas, San Juan and Grand Turk. Starting price is $299.

The third starts in Los Angeles on April 12 and finishes in Vancouver 16 days and a Hawaiian vacation later. It’s on the Carnival Miracle, stopping in Hilo, Maui, Kauai, Kona and Honolulu. Starting price is $1,219.

And finally, one from Norwegian

Here is 14-day cruise on the Norwegian Star from Miami to Los Angles, covering a bevy of ports, departing November 10 through the Panama Canal. Ports include Cartagena, Puntarenas, Puerto Chiapas, Huatulco, Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas. Starting price is $549  and balcony price is $1,049, with a suite available for under $140 a day.

All for now.
