Princess Cruises’ travel blog, “Linked by the Sea” has wrapped up a year of chronicling intriguing stories from passengers and crew members who have made significant connections on a cruise. In total, 48 travel stories captured the diverse ways people discover new relationships onboard that lead to meaningful or lifelong relationships.

The blog, found at LinkedByTheSea.com, finished the year with touching romances, friendships forged by taking a leap of faith or despite language differences, and even a group that continues to sail together 25 years after they were first seated together at dinner.

Recent “Linked by the Sea” stories have included:

Happily Ever After – When Jordan agreed to accompany his mother on a cruise after the death of his father, he didn’t expect to change his life. But meeting Andy at an onboard gathering led to marriage and a honeymoon on Grand Princess.

Our Growing Guest List – Teri and her husband thought their vow renewal aboard Grand Princess would be a private affair. That is until they started making friends all around the ship. By the time of their ceremony, the guest list had grown to 23 newfound friends.

A Traveling Leap of Faith – Kay waited two months to tell her husband she was going to Alaska with someone she barely knew. Kay and Nancy had met on a previous cruise, and when it came time to see Alaska, they teamed up and had the time of their lives.

Love Waltzes Back into My Life – Millie didn’t expect to find love again at 83, but after getting up the nerve to ask Bill to dance on a Ruby Princess cruise, a whirlwind romance began. They were engaged just a month later and continue to find romance on the seas.

Friends in Any Language – Stewart and Mary from England found that remembering a little French from school paid off when they were able to befriend a couple from Quebec. Throughout the cruise they met and practiced their respective languages, which led to a friendship that has led to subsequent cruises and a trip to Paris.

Still Sailing After 25 Years – Mark and his family were assigned to a table for eight aboard Fair Princess, 25 years ago. Little did he know that that this band of tablemates would click so well that they would cruise again and again until now their group has grown to as many as 40 and their “friends and family cruise” is an annual event.
