Green Globe rounds up successful Caribbean Travel Marketplace
LOS ANGELES, California – “The Caribbean is one of our strongest performing areas worldwide in regards to sustainability,” commented Green Globe Certification’s CEO, Guido Bauer, who just returned from a successful Caribbean Travel Marketplace (CHTA), in Montego Bay, Jamaica.
The CHTA Marketplace is the biggest and longest-standing tourism event in the region, and offered the perfect opportunity for the Green Globe team to meet with CHTA members during all networking events. Mr. Bauer was joined by local partners Ms. Denaye Hinds and Ms. Wendy Walker Drakes to discuss sustainability, and the certification process with hotels, attractions, destination management companies, restaurants, tourist boards, and transportation companies.
“This is an event where networking has a key role,” added Mr. Bauer. “The feedback I got from meeting with key industry players, such as tourism ministers, is extremely positive. Sustainability is a huge topic in the Caribbean, and we are happy to inspire everybody in the hospitality industry to join the green trend. I am very proud to see that we are approaching 100 members in the Caribbean alone.”
