NTSB to host forum on cruise safety
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) said it will hold a two-day forum in March on cruise industry safety issues.
The forum, entitled “Cruise Ships: Examining Safety, Operations and Oversight,” will review the industry’s regulatory framework and examine high-profile incidents, an NTSB announcement said.
The NTSB is the federal government’s primary accident-investigation agency for the transportation industry.
The forum will take place at its headquarters in Washington, at 429 L’Enfant Plaza, on March 25 and 26. It will be open to the public.
Participants will include the U.S. Coast Guard, vessel owners and operators, researchers, and industry groups. A detailed agenda and list of participants will be released at a later date.
