Spring Showers Giving Way to Summer Caribbean Vacation Deals

The recent stormy weather over much of the U.S. is one of the surest signs that the spring season is fully underway. Another unmistakable harbinger of spring’s arrival is the array of value offers from Caribbean-based travel suppliers, who are rushing to release their best packages prior to the launch of the summer family travel season.  

Several of the offers are tied to the most popular Caribbean destinations, which are partnering with hotels and resorts to provide special packages. For example, hoteliers in the Bahamas’ Nassau Paradise Island district are offering $250 in “Instant Savings” to travelers who book stays of four nights or more at participating hotels as part of air-inclusive packages.

The offer applies to travel from now through Dec. 23, 2014; participating hotels include Atlantis Paradise Island, the Graycliff Hotel, Melia Nassau Beach Resort, One Only Ocean Club and Sandals Royal Bahamian Spa Resort Offshore Island.

Another Bahamas Resort, Grand Lucayan, is celebrating spring with Mother’s Day and Father’s Day packages that provide girlfriend getaway packages for moms and unlimited golf for dads. Grand Lucayan’s Girlfriend Getaway package offers rates starting at $211, double occupancy, for a two-night stay in an ocean view room, daily breakfast, manicures and pedicures at the resort’s Senses spa and pool-side cocktails at Grand Lucayan’s Hammerheads bar.

Meanwhile the resort’s Unlimited Golf package for dads features unlimited play on the resort’s 18-hole by Robert Trent Jones Jr.-designed course. Package rates start at $142 per night, double occupancy for an ocean view room plus green fees and golf cart use.

Travelers to St. Maarten will find several resorts and hotels offering rates reduced by up to 35 percent plus other travel incentives and discounted activities across the destination. The offers include up to 35 percent off published rates for stays of four, five and seven nights at the Holland House Beach Hotel from May 2 through Oct. 23, 2014. Under the offer rates start at $615 for a four-night stay.

St. Maarten’s Sonesta Maho Beach Resort Casino is offering a “Spring Fun in the Sun” package featuring  a third night free plus $200 in resort credits to guests who book and pay in full by May 31 for travel through June 30, 2014. 

The Sonesta Great Bay Beach Resort Casino Spa is also offering “Spring Fun in the Sun” packages featuring a fourth night free plus $300 in resort credits to travelers who book and pay in full by May 31 for travel through June 30, 2014.
