Royal Caribbean launches new reservations system
Royal Caribbean Ltd has unveiled a new reservations system for agents which will operate across the company’s three cruise brands including Celebrity and Azamara.
The system, called Espresso, will be launched at the end of March with agents in the UK and Ireland due to receive training over the next two months before it goes live.
Espresso will offer “side by side” comparison view of itineraries to allow agents to easily compare different cruises to find the best options for customers. It will also be optimised for tablet devices to allow extra flexibility for agents.
Another feature will be a “predictive” search function which will allow agents to find existing bookings more easily, as well as the ability to display a client’s history including details about their last cruise holiday and accommodation preferences.
Stuart Leven, managing director of Royal Caribbean International, UK and Ireland, said: “Royal Caribbean International’s relationship with travel agents has always been our number one priority and this is another demonstration of our commitment to making our brands the easiest in the industry to do business with.
“These new tools deliver an easier and more intuitive booking experience for our valued travel partners.”
Jo Rzymowska, managing director of Celebrity Cruises, UK and Ireland, added that the Espresso system would reduce the number of clicks needed to make a booking from seven to five.
“All inventory is centralised and travel agents can select up to four stateroom categories at once for quick and easy comparison,” she added.
