Designed to inspire consumers to cruise to warm weather destinations while arctic blasts batter most of the U.S., the new campaign features an onboard credit promotion as well as an online video contest benefiting the Make-A-Wish foundation.
The campaign’s consumer promotion will offer up to $250 onboard credit for seven-night cruises that are booked between Feb. 20 and March 2 and set sail between March 16 and Dec. 31, 2015.
The offer is valid for up to five guests ($50 per person) in an ocean view or higher stateroom.
“This campaign is intended to get consumers thinking about going somewhere warm on their next vacation,” said Rosemarie Reed, vice president of marketing for CruiseOne and Cruises Inc in a statement. “The attractive promotion and interactive element coupled with the aftermath of the record-breaking snow storms around the country (make us) confident that this marketing campaign will be a hit among consumers.”
CruiseOne and Cruises Inc. hope to generate additional buzz for the campaign through an internal fundraiser that will encourage its vacation specialists to post videos online of themselves building a sandcastle. The corporate office will make a donation to Make-A-Wish for every video posted.
The online video aspect of the campaign will also be available for consumers who can post their own videos to any CruiseOne or Cruises Inc. Facebook page with the accompanying hashtag #DoYouWantToBuildASandCastle for a chance to win a free seven-night cruise.
“We strive to provide our vacation specialists with innovative marketing programs that will help them grow their business each year,” added Reed.
“We are able to do so by leveraging our affiliation with World Travel Holdings, and also by backing more than $350,000 in corporately-funded consumer marketing programs that are exclusive to CruiseOne and Cruises Inc., such as offering free onboard credit, complimentary port parking and even social media support.”
