Royal Caribbean puts Autism Channel on its TVs
Royal Caribbean International will carry on-demand
programming from the Autism Channel on most of its ships beginning in late
October.
The cruise line said it is the first hospitality company to air
the shows, which include “Real Look Autism,” which is billed as an “unfiltered
look” at autistic children and “I Am Austistic” with Daniel Heinlein, who was
diagnosed with Asperger’s as a teenager and who talks about autism with
doctors, researchers and others.
“Complimentary access to the Autism Channel’s exclusive
content will benefit many Royal Caribbean guests and bring more awareness to autism,”
said Jeffrey Kasky, president of the Autism Channel.
An estimated 1.5
million people in the U.S. are affected by some form of autism.
