Caribbean hotel association honors Adam Stewart
Adam Stewart, CEO of Sandals Resorts International, was
named Caribbean Hotelier of the Year by
the Caribbean Hotel and Tourism Association during the Caribbean Hospitality
Industry Exchange Forum in Puerto Rico.
Stewart is the 35th recipient of the award, which is
sponsored by MMGY Global. The award
recognizes excellence in all areas of operations, contributions to the
community, commitment to training and development of staff, and sound
environmental practices.
Stewart also is president of the Sandals Foundation, a
nonprofit organization that supports the Caribbean people through investments
in in education, community and the environment.
He was born in 1962, the same year that his father, Butch
Stewart, purchased his first hotel and launched the Sandals chain. Butch
Stewart received the Hotelier of the Year award in 1992.
The Caribbean Hospitality Industry Exchange Forum took place at El Conquistador, a Waldorf
Astoria resort in Fajardo.
