Geneva Bride Wedding Walk features tours, honeymoon giveaway
Brides- and grooms-to-be can tour 13 boutique wedding businesses. At Riverside Receptions, 35. N. River Lane, there will be a reception with 22 more vendors.
Walk spokeswoman Laura Gaskill said the event also is attempting to be welcoming toward grooms.
“We are trying to be more inclusive of the couple for both of their needs,” Gaskill said. “Maybe he wants some things more specific to his tastes. Guys are getting much more involved.”
Gaskill said same-sex couples previously have participated in the event, but being more inclusive for grooms opens up the options for them as well.
“Couples are getting very playful,” Gaskill said. “They’re making such a deviation from tradition. You never know.”
The cost is $25 for a bride and two guests in advance or $30 to register on the day. Registration is available online at www.genevabride.com.
Participants will get a chance to win an all-inclusive honeymoon of five days and six nights at the Villa del Palmar Cancun Resort Spa in Cancun, Mexico, with an ocean view suite, Gaskill said. Participants also will receive an infinity scarf and tote bag, as well as favors from vendors, Gaskill said.
