New cruise sails BACKWARDS down the River Ems
The ship is going backwards to optimise control. This protects the azipods and propellers due to the fact that, when manoeuvring in reverse, the rear of the ship stays in the centre of the river.
At what point does it turn the right way round?
She doesn’t turn round until she’s out on the open sea.
Does it have to go through locks etc?
She’ll travel through four bridges, each of which will either be opened or removed.
