Travel Tip: Paying to Access WiFi on Cruise Ships
Let’s be honest. For most of us, we don’t change our lifestyle when we change our location.
If we’re Type A in New York, we’re just as likely to be Type A on a cruise ship. The only difference is that we’re at sea.
Nothing makes passengers more anxious than the potential loss of connectivity.
They want to be wired when they’re on a cruise ship, but they don’t want to mortgage their houses to do it.
WiFi on cruise ships has always been an expensive ticket.
While there are cruise lines that offer WiFi packages, the charges can mount up quickly.
If you’re going to buy that WiFi package, change your surfing habits.
Go online, download all your email, answer that mail offline, return to the web, and then push send. Then get off again.
Otherwise you’ll encounter major sticker shock when you return home after the cruise.
At least one cruise line has figured out the real attraction to WiFi.
Viking Cruises now offers WiFi free to all passengers, and to make a truly happy ship, the line is also offering free WiFi to the crew as well.
