Free Caribbean trip for you and your other half – on one condition

Jeremie Tronet Facebook post

Jeremie Tronet, a professional kite surfer from the Grenadines, has made an incredible job offer to anyone who can help his girlfriend. The right person will get the trip of a lifetime, as Jeremie will cover the cost of their flights to the Caribbean, accommodation, food, trips around the local islands, and even kite surfing lessons on a two-month break. He put the offer on his Facebook page, and has been inundated with replies.

He explained that his girlfriend Zoe Schaffer-Jennett has had a bad fall – plunging down three metres and fracturing her femur. As a result she needs months of rehabilitation in order to walk again.

Unfortunately, the couple has no insurance, so cannot afford to send her to a specialist rehabilitation centre. The offer is Jeremie’s attempt to find an alternative – finding someone to offer her support at home. He says he expects this work to be done by two specialists, each staying for two or three months on the island.

They are looking for a physical therapist, orthopaedic surgeon or someone who works in a rehabilitation centre, and anyone who is interested can get in touch at zoesurgery@gmail.com.

Thousands of people are expected to reply, as the post has already been shared more than 550 times, and has almost 100 comments – many of which are simply wishing Jeremie and Zoe the best.

Jeremie updated his post earlier today, adding that the support, advice and kind words had made Zoe smile all day.

World’s best job?

It could be just the ticket for a specialist looking for a break from the NHS, and who fancies a couple of months in an incredible setting learning to kite surf. It’s bound to be a dream job for someone, and may well be one of the best jobs in the world.

There is, however, a fair bit of competition for this title.

In 2014 luxury website VeryFirstTo advertised for someone to travel the world on a budget of $1 million, sampling the very best in luxury travel from yachts and private jets to private islands and the very best hotels – to review them for Luxury Travel Intelligence. They were looking for someone who could blend into this environment easily, so unfortunately anyone who couldn’t hide their excitement at being ushered into a suite at the Four Seasons would be unlikely to make it through the selection process.

A month earlier, Jauntaroo’s Best Job Around the World was awarded to Tyson Mayr, a 27-year-old Australian, who was paid $100,000 for an all-expenses paid trip around the world for one year – volunteering in each place to get to know it better, and make the world a better place.

If all that sounds a bit active, then you may prefer the job – also advertised in 2014 – for a Netflix tagger – paid to watch all its films and TV services before anyone else in the country, and tagging them to a particular category. You would be expected to work from home.

Or perhaps you would fancy the job advertised a couple of months earlier, for a Bathstore bathtub tester. The idea was that the company would regularly install tubs, so they could lounge in them for hours, and review the experience. The company added “this is one job that can be taken lying down.”
