Fore! A river cruise option for golfers

Avid golfers can now combine their love of the game with river cruising. Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection has added new golf excursions to its 2017 Paris Normandy itinerary.

While sailing France’s Seine River on the eight-day river cruise, guests who opt for this new Go Active (Uniworld’s wellness-focused program) golf itinerary will have the opportunity to play two courses: Golf de Rouen Mont-Saint-Aignan in Rouen and Golf d’Etretat, which overlooks the coastline of Etretat. 

Uniworld encourages guests to register at the golf courses in advance and to pair up by two to four players per group. Additionally, golf equipment will be made available by Uniworld in case any passengers don’t want to bring equipment with them from home.

The golf-centric departures will take place onboard Uniworld’s 128-passenger Joie de Vivre, the company’s newest Super Ship class of vessel, which will be christened in March.

In addition to golf, the Seine sailings will highlight French food, wine, art and music. In between golfing sessions and cultural excursions, the onboard experience will include the Salon de Beaux-Arts lounge that will house a collection of fine art and antiques, and Le Club l’Esprit, a pool area with a hydraulic floor that turns into a dance floor or outdoor cinema at night. The Joie de Vivre will also have two dining venues, the main restaurant (Le Restaurant Pigalle) and La Cave de Vins (a private-dining wine room).

Guests will have the option to book one of two Royal Suites, eight Junior Suites and 54 staterooms, each of which is being designed in its own unique style. 

Cruises will include scheduled airport transfers; all gratuities onboard and onshore; port charges; all meals; unlimited beverages, including local wines, craft beers and premium spirits such as Grey Goose and Glenfiddich; daily guided shore excursions; in-suite butler service; concierge services; 24-hour room service; and WiFi.
