English Wine Week: P&O Cruises uncork Kent plonk across seven ships

Experts say it is an ideal alternative to aromatic white wines such as Sauvignon Blanc or Pinot Grigio, with its crisp aromas of ripe apple, grass and citrus zest.

Similarly, Bacchus, Chapel Down is regarded as England’s answer to Sauvignon Blanc.

Wine buffs describe it as being packed full of green fruit aromas together with a crisp acidity.

The award-winning wine is also described as having intense aromas of pineapple, lime and hints of green pepper.

Other wines being promoted on board PO Cruises’ ships include a range of English sparkling wines from Wiston Estate Winery in the South Downs, West Sussex; a Special Release Fume from Wickham Vineyard in Hampshire and a Pandora Medium Dry from Shawsgate Vineyard in Suffolk.
