My Beloved Travel Destinations In North America

“Lakwatsera”… That’s the term my Fil-Am friend calls me. She said it’s a Filipino word for a travel junkie… and a phrase that is totally appropriate for me.

And as far as travelling goes, sometimes there’s no need to spend on airfares and other excessive expenses for going to lovely places is sometimes as easy as visiting another state or taking a ride across the border. And I’m not just talking about Niagara Falls or the Statue of Liberty here…

If you wanna know more about this, then keep on reading this article as I’m about to share to you my beloved travel destinations in North America. Enjoy!

McWay Falls, California – Also known as the “tidefalls”, it is a perfect getaway for surfers and beach goers as the tides cascades directly into the ocean. Who knows you’ll be able to find another perfect travel destination in sunny Cali, but there sure is. I’ve been here with friends and family several times already just to go on a quick escape from the everyday hustle and bustle of city life.

Multnomah Falls, Oregon – This waterfall is one of the most popular attractions in Oregon. With its unspoiled nature and lush greenish scenery, the place is befittingly enjoyed over Benson Bridge where you can get to appreciate the views even more. I came to know this place because of a supposed Native American legend that this place was created for a princess for bathing naked. And upon reaching the place, I was a bit convinced as to how this story came about because of the hush-hush setting.

Tamul Falls, Mexico – Next stop is this wonderful attraction from across the border. Just a 24 hours ride from Texas you will reach the town of Tanchachin where you get to see this turquoise falls. Tamul falls is ideal not only for swimming, but also for rafting. But before you get there, I suggest you take some time to enjoy the stunning rock formations at Tamtoc and also marvel at their ancient ruins.

Sima de las Cotorass, Chiapas – If rappelling is your thing, then this is a fitting travel destination for you. Located in Mexico, the Sima de las Cotorass is actually a 500ft. massive sinkhole. But the fun doesn’t stop there because as you go deeper into the hole, you are also treated with a bunch of cave art paintings. And don’t forget to bring your camera as wild parrots are also known to reside the area.

Athabasca Glacier, Canada – This is one sweet attraction that you can reach by car or bus. In short, it is highly accessible to US residents at any time of the year. The Athabasca Glacier is situated in the Canadian Rockies in Jasper National Park. Upon arrival, you will immediately stare in awe at this behemoth beauty. It’s quite unfortunate though as there has been a recorded massive recession of the glacier over the past years.

Old Montreal, Quebec – This is only entry that is not found outdoors. Old Montreal is a district in Quebec that is known for its old but not so ancient buildings that will immediately transport you to its distant past. The main attraction of this location is the Basilica of Montreal which is an imposing splendor that is filled with spiral designs, gold fixtures, and lots and lots of candles. After a solemn moment, you can also head to Place d’Armes and grace at the beautiful view of the surrounding buildings.
