CLIA announces line-up for new virtual ship tours
The Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) has announced the line-up for its new virtual ship tours.
Starting 5 November, CLIA will host a series of virtual ship tours across five weeks, which are complimentary to CLIA travel agent members.
The ship tours will give agents the chance to get ‘back on board’ a series of great cruise ships, with weekly live webinars to share information and imagery on the vessel and its fleet.
CLIA travel agent members can attend for free and their attendance will count towards their UK accreditation – in absence of in-person ship visits.
The series will kick off on Thursday 5 November from 9am to 10am GMT, featuring Avalon Waterways, Aurora Expeditions, Uniworld Boutique River Cruise Collection and Oceania Cruises.
The following Thursday, on 12 November, the session will focus on A-Rosa, Regent Seven Seas Cruises, Tui River Cruises and MSC Cruises.
On 19 November, Scenic, Carnival Cruise Line, APT and Holland America Line will feature.
This session will be followed by AmaWaterways, Celebrity Cruises, Amadeus River Cruises and Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines on 26 November.
Finally, the session on Thursday 3 December will feature Ponant, Disney Cruise Line, Riviera Travel and Azamara.
All sessions take place at 9am GMT and last for an hour.
Discussing the enticing line-up, CLIA UK Ireland director, Andy Harmer, said:
“We are delighted to present our brand-new online learning initiative, created exclusively for CLIA travel agents.
“Of course, we would all love to be able to visit these beautiful ships in person, but as we are sadly unable to this year, we hope that the CLIA Virtual Ship Tours can offer our travel agent members the next best thing.”
Those agents looking to register for the sessions can do so online, by visiting cruising.org/en-gb/events.
Helping to get the cruise industry back on its feet, CLIA recently developed a comprehensive Covid-19 framework for cruise ship operators and passengers to assist with the safe return of cruising.
The document was created in collaboration with the UK Chamber of Shipping, featuring sections dedicated to operators, passengers, and seafarers, each containing specific advice and recommendations.
