Silversea is the latest line to sweeten the pot on inclusions

Silversea Cruises became the latest line to increase its inclusivity level, adding roundtrip air and one complimentary shore excursion in each port of call to each booking.

The inclusions are a first for Silversea and will start with its 2022 itineraries on all of the line’s 10 ships.

“With the inclusion of roundtrip air and transfers, we are further enriching our all-inclusive offering, which is among the most broad-ranging in the ultraluxury cruise sector,” Roberto Martinoli, Silversea CEO, said in a statement.

Silversea fares currently include unlimited WiFi, gratuities, transfers and beverages, among other perks.

Travelers booked on 2022 and 2023 cruises will be able to reserve any of the line’s excursions except its Silversea Selected excursions, which can be included for an additional charge.

Bookings will include economy air with business-class upgrades for certain destinations and cruises, such as world cruises and grand voyages. Guests who don’t use Silversea’s will get a “nonuse air credit.”

Silversea said that its cruise fares will reflect the new inclusions and that travel advisors will therefore earn higher commissions per booking.

Celebrity Cruises this month became the first line in the premium category to include drinks, WiFi and gratuities in its base cruise fare.
