Beaches Turks & Caicos sets reopening date
Beaches Turks Caicos will welcome guests beginning on Dec. 21, “and I couldn’t be more excited,” said Adam Stewart, deputy chairman of Sandals Resorts International. The resort has been closed since March due to the pandemic.
The reopening date had been a moving target, first planned for June and then October. The date was again pushed back to November and beyond pending the resolution of a tax issue.
“It’s been a complex situation, but we had excellent discussions with government officials to resolve the issue, and we are ready to roll out the welcome mat for our new and returning guests. I plan to be in the lobby on reopening day to greet our first visitors,” Stewart said.
Beaches Turks Caicos features five villages with Italian, French, Key West and Caribbean themes. It will be the last of the three Beaches resorts to reopen; Beaches Negril has already reopened, and Beaches Ocho Rios is scheduled to reopen on Dec. 18. A fourth is planned for St. Vincent and the Grenadines.
