2021 travel plans hampered by precautions, local agency says – WDHN

DOTHAN, Ala. (WDHN) — This time of year is usually when people are planning their next vacation, specifically cruises, but many cruise lines have stopped ships due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Because of that, a local travel agency said people want to travel but aren’t sure where will be safe and when they’d be able to return.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, people traveling to the U.S. must produce a negative COVID-19 test 72 hours or less to their travel date.

“With the cruise lines not cruising right now, I’m still getting a lot of interest, a lot of people wanting to, but quite honestly, I made the personal business a couple of months back just to stop booking anything for 2021 cruise-related,” said Jeremy Lee, owner of Wiregrass Travel.

Lee says that he’s still booking plenty of vacations to the Caribbean and other tropical locations.
