Mackinac Island’s Grand Hotel announces special packages for 2021 season

MACKINAC ISLAND, MI – It may be winter, but Grand Hotel staff already are prepping for the new season to kick off this spring. Mackinac Island’s most famous hotel is slated to open its doors on May 7 for its 135th season.

Guests who stay at Grand Hotel this year will get to see its newly renovated Esther Williams swimming pool, complete with a big water slide, cabanas and adults-only area. New shopping experiences are being added to the hotel’s ground-floor corridor as well.

For vacationers who want to get a jump-start on their travel plans, the resort has unveiled its 2021 special packages and promotions. Prices and more details are available on Grand Hotel’s website, or click through on the links below. See the hotel’s descriptions of the special promotions:

  • Mother’s Day Weekend (May 9-10): Spend time with mom and take advantage of all the fine amenities at Grand Hotel during Mother’s Day Weekend. This package includes daily breakfast and dinner, a special Mother’s Day grand luncheon buffet, complimentary golf green fees on The Jewel, nightly entertainment in the Terrace Room and complimentary admission to the Richard and Jane Manoogian Mackinac Art museum.
  • Ballroom Dance Package (May 16-18): Join Grand Hotel and dance the night away with the Ballroom Dancing Package. Perfect for experienced dancers or those looking to learn some new steps, participants will experience a diverse range of ballroom dance styles including the Fox Trot, Cha-Cha and Swing taught by professional dance instructors. Package includes daily breakfast and dinner, a welcome reception, all entertainment and dance instruction and complimentary golf green fees on The Jewel.
  • Summer Michigan Golf Live Package (June 4-6): Tee up a vacation of a lifetime with the Summer Michigan Golf Live Package. Named for the state’s leading golf program, Michigan Golf Live, show host Bill Hobson coordinates this golf event, complete with three days of unlimited golf on The Jewel, prize giveaways, private evening receptions, Saturday morning golf scramble and more.
  • Summer Wine Appreciation Weekend (June 25-27): Join Grand Hotel’s Master Sommelier, Elizabeth Schweitzer, and a celebrated winery for this special wine tasting and hotel package. The package includes daily breakfast and dinner, Friday evening wine reception, Saturday wine tasting and special dinner event, and complimentary admission to the Richard and Jane Manoogian Mackinac Art museum.
  • Old Fashioned Mackinac Fourth of July Celebration (July 2-5): Celebrate Fourth of July at Grand Hotel with the whole family! The Old Fashioned Mackinac Fourth of July Package includes daily breakfast and dinner (with a casual family dining option), beer and wine reception, two days of a Children’s Carnival including a BBQ luncheon and ice cream social, complimentary golf green fees on The Jewel and complimentary admission to the Richard and Jane Manoogian Mackinac Art museum.
  • Grand Princess and Superhero Package (August 24-26): Your princess or superhero will have a Grand time dressing up and interacting with their favorite characters during two days filled with fun activities and entertainment. The package includes daily breakfast and dinner, Royal Welcome Reception, sing-a-long and bedtime stories, superhero training, Afternoon tea, not-so-quiet midnight ball, Grand princess and superhero graduation and more.
  • Honeymoon and Anniversary Package (Available all season): Celebrate a honeymoon or anniversary with a romantic three-night stay at Grand Hotel. The Honeymoon and Anniversary Package includes daily breakfast and dinner, a fresh-cut flower arrangement, champagne basket, Grand Hotel homemade fudge, an Afternoon Tea, one-hour private carriage tour and complimentary admission to the Richard and Jane Manoogian Mackinac Art museum.
