Caribbean countries open Covid test sites for travelers

In addition to major hotels and resorts throughout the Caribbean that offer pre-departure Covid testing for guests returning to or entering the U.S. and the U.K., several island destinations now offer the service.

Jamaica ramped up its destination-wide testing capacity to establish mobile test facilities for travelers staying at accommodations that do not offer the on-property service.

Resources also are being added at the two international airports in Montego Bay and Kingston.

Antigen and PCR tests also will be conducted at 10 private labs approved by the Ministry of Health and Wellness.
In the Turks and Caicos, 12 testing centers have opened on Providenciales, South Caicos and Parrot Cay, including six at resorts and six at medical clinics.

Additional testing sites are expected to be added across the other islands in the Turks and Caicos.

The Dominican Republic is offering free antigen testing for all international visitors traveling to the U.S. The tests are administered by technical health personnel at hotels throughout the country, with test results certified by the Ministry of Health.

St. Barts has opened up two testing centers, one administered by the Red Cross at the St. Jean parking lot for the rapid antigen test (free) or the PCR test (approximately $165) and the second at the Airport Pharmacy in La Savane shopping center for an antigen test ($66).

The U.S. requires that travelers entering the country provide proof of a
recent negative Covid-19 test. Canada has temporarily suspended flights
to the Caribbean.
