Scenic Tours unveils new river cruise line Emerald Waterways
Scenic Tours has launched a river cruise line, Emerald Waterways. Two 182-passenger ships, the Emerald Star and Emerald Sky, will sail eight- to 15-day cruises in Europe, starting April 15.
Each ship will have a heated swimming pool with a retractable roof; the space transforms into a movie theater in the evening. Reflections will be the main dining room, and the Terrace will serve breakfast and lunch. Other features are an onboard hairdresser, massage room and fitness area.
Staterooms will range in size from 162 to 210 square feet. Each stateroom will have a floor-to-ceiling window, the upper half of which can roll down with the push of a button.
Guests staying in Grand Balcony and Owner’s suites may order a continental breakfast, pre-dinner canapes and after-dinner sweets.
Emerald Waterways is offering four itineraries that sail the Danube, Rhine and Moselle rivers. Fares include all transfers to and from the ships; all meals onboard and most meals on shore; unlimited tea and coffee; wine, beer and soft drinks with lunch and dinner; bottled water in the cabins; WiFi onboard the ship; shore excursions; gratuities; and port charges.
Emerald Waterways said its website and travel agent reservations line, (888) 778-6689, will go live before Aug. 21. Digital brochures will be available on or before Sept. 1.
