Projects involve conservation, cultural preservation, poverty relief and renovation work on schools. Try gardening at the Makapu’u Beach Native Coastal Plant Preserve in Honolulu or helping at the Luigi Scotto Foundation, a residential care home in Livorno, Italy.

If you fancy working in a zoo, try this voyage from Stockholm to Copenhagen, which lets you feed the animals at Rostock Zoological Garden, the largest in the German Baltic region.
