Peakes Travel Elite appoints Cruise specialist

Shrewsbury’s only family run independent travel agents, Peakes Travel Elite, has appointed a Cruise specialist following an increased demand from clients.

Sue Kinton, from Much Wenlock, has previously spent over a decade in Nottingham and Telford working as a specialist cruise advisor for a well known national travel agency and now joins the staff at Peakes to advise on the new services available.

Peakes Travel Elite manager Claire Moore commented: “We are delighted to welcome Sue to the team and have organised a special ‘Cruise Coffee Morning’ in conjunction with Swan Hellenic and Voyages of Discovery to be held in our offices in Mardol, Shrewsbury, on Monday 23rd September, to launch our expanded cruise service and to introduce Sue to clients old and new.

“The event takes place from 10am until 1pm, when coffee and cakes made by staff will be on offer. We will have all sorts of information on hand including people to talk about special interest and destination cruises, and hopefully at the same time raise some money for the travel charity ‘Just a Drop’ which aims to supply clear water to some of the poorest communities in the world.”

Sue added: “There is a huge increase in the demand for ocean and river cruises both European and world wide from people of all ages, especially younger couples looking for a touch of extravagance, which dispels the out-dated image that cruising is just for older people.

“Figures show that cruising now forms a major part of the holiday market but national companies can be limited to what they can offer. So I am pleased to be joining Peakes who, as independent agents are free to provide a wider range of products from river cruise to 6 star luxury ocean cruising and everything in between.”
