Goa Tourism bags ITCTA Best Honeymoon/Romantic Destination Award

Goa Tourism was recently named the Best Honeymoon/Romantic Destination at the International Tourism Conclave and Travel Awards (ITCTA) in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The award was received by Govind Prabhugaonkar, Assistant Accounts Officer, Department of Tourism, Goa, from Sanjay Pande, Additional Director Tourism, Rajasthan, as per a release.

Dilip Parulekar, Minister for Tourism, Woman Child Development, Government of Goa, said, “Winning these awards helps create awareness about Goa’s potential and its rich heritage, culture, cuisine, landscapes and other tourist attractions. This kind of acknowledgement will help us in our efforts to attract tourists from India and abroad. The award is a testimony to the professional and aggressive marketing approach undertaken by Goa Tourism in the recent months, which will continue in future.�

Goa Tourism had introduced a single-window clearance scheme for beach weddings and music festivals. The scheme received tremendous response from party and wedding organisers, thereby enabling the state to emerge as a winner in the party and honeymoon destination category at the Awards, a release stated.

ITCTA aims to bring together tourism, hospitality, aviation industry, tour organisers, tour operators, and travel agents on a single platform. ITCTA looks to promote tourism by undertaking promotional activities, facilitate exchange of market information, encourage partnerships between public and private sectors, and facilitate easing of barriers within the travel industry.
