Travel smart: Naughty cruise passengers not nice

The big cruise website CruiseCritic.com recently asked its readers to describe passengers who were naughty or nice while aboard.

Nice behavior, predictably, included a tale of someone helping a lost passenger find her room and another cruiser brightening a kitchen aide’s day with a hug.

Naughty? A lot more fun. The drunk who swiped all the drinks from a tray, just as another passenger was about to take one. Pompous passengers overheard in a line saying, “That’s why we pay more money, so we don’t have to wait with people like them.” A child who was asked to leave the adult hot tub who replied, “Not on your life, lady!”

But the top naughty prize has to go to the two passengers who hogged four lounge chairs (two in the sun and two in the shade) for the entire day by putting their towels and bags on them, while other passengers searched in vain for a spot on the Lido deck.

Those two deserve to walk the plank.
